  • It's a pretty cool game, although I'm still getting a feel for it. Each race has a unique feel to it, although the basic premise for the game is consistent for each: build up the fastest so you can destroy your enemies. The battles don't tend to last long. The attackers either overrun the place or they get beaten back. If your reserves aren't nearby, odds are they won't have an effect on the outcome. That said, I've had a couple battles rage for about a half hour as I kept throwing more units into the fray while the AI did the same while repairing/rebuilding structures. The game has a lot of balance; basic units are fairly cheap and expendable, but highly upgradable. Heroes are more expensive, but can counter myth units. Myth units are expensive, but can cause massive damage. The most effective armies are, not surprising, ones that strike a balance of the various unit types. All in all, it is a quick game to learn, but one that can take a bit to master.
